Villa Las Brujas Hotel is a marvelous choice for vacationers seeking a laid-back, unpretentious à la carte hotel on a lovely beach. Tucked into a broad cove, the narrow and curling sugar-white beach immediately east of the hotel shelves gently into turquoise shallows. The beach is never crowded, as the small hotel has it all to itself. Apart from a handful of sun lounges and thatched beach umbrellas, the beach is pure, untouched and spotlessly clean. The hotel lays on windsurfs, and the marina is nearby and handy for anyone wishing to take advantage of the superb scuba diving or angling possibilities.

A highlight here is the thatched open-air El Farallón, restaurant overlooking the sands. It serves a simple menu of criolla and continental dishes (spaghettis, etc.), plus burgers, and seafoods; and the attached bar is a choice spot to share a cocktail with the anglers who frequent Villa Las Brujas. Other facilities include bar, shop, water activities, solarium, Jacuzzi, motorcycle/car rental, parking and tourist desk.

About Hotel Gaviota Villa Las Brujas

The 24 bungalows of timber and stone perch atop “dog’s-tooth” limestone plateau overlooking waters of an impossible Maxfield Parrish turquoise blue. Only half of the units are oceanfront, however. They’re reached from the lobby via a weathered and rickety wooden boardwalk in need of replacement. They’re visually appealing, with their ceramic floors, stained wood-paneled walls, modest bamboo furnishings, and colorful spreads. Each has satellite TV, telephone, mini-bar, and in-room safe. And bathrooms feature marble tops.

You might need to book this hotel well in advance as it is very popular.
